Set coladj to 3 - the width of the integer number column Set linecnt to 38 - the line number count that fits 12pt Helvetica at 1.2 spacing on a Letter document with 1in margins. Afterward, back in your Pages document, simply click in the first Text box, and paste to receive the 38 integers as line numbers. It will put a list of 38 numbers on the clipboard that are 3 columns wide with left padded spaces. Now, you run the following AppleScript in the Script Editor (Dock : Launchpad : Other : Script Editor). Position and scale the second Text box to consume the rest of the page. Reposition, and stretch the first text box along the left document margin so that its width nicely accommodates the number column width, and its height spans the top and bottom margin. There is no ability to suppress, or skip a line number sequence where there is white-space, but you can change the particular line number text color to white. You certainly can change the font, font-size, and spacing, but you will have to experiment with how many line numbers will then fit on a page. Right-justify the text in the first Text box. I insert two Text boxes, each with their Arrange tab Text Wrap set to None, and their font and spacing attributes matching the first paragraph. Let's say that we know that if you are using 12-pt Helvetica at a line-spacing of 1.2, that this will support 38 integers as line numbers per page in a portrait Letter size document with 1 inch margins.
